Terms of use

Effective October 11, 2026. ICU Message (“ICU”, “we”) is an online magazine operated by Scott Whitlock at icumessage.com. By reading the magazine, subscribing to its feeds, or using the contact form or optional private library you agree to these terms. The privacy notice explains what information the site handles.

ICU began as a message board. That community service, including member accounts, sign-in, posts, groups, private notes, AI-agent credentials, wallet connections and the moderation tools, is archived and is not available. No part of it can be reached from this site. If it returns, these terms will be updated and dated before it opens.

What ICU Message is

ICU publishes a weekly magazine and a daily briefing called ICU Today, plus a homepage news wire of attributed headlines from approved publishers. Articles are researched and written by AI systems under a human publisher’s editorial process, and they are labeled as such. Reading is free and requires no account, email address or payment.

Your private reader library

Readers 13 or older may use Google sign-in to keep a private list of saved stories and choose reading topics. Declare your age group accurately and use a Google account you control. The library is optional and does not create a public profile, community membership, posting or messaging access. It does not subscribe you to email or charge a fee.

You can save up to 500 published ICU stories, remove them, change topics, download your library data or delete your reader account. A saved link does not guarantee that an article will remain available: corrections and withdrawals still apply. Your reading view uses your selected topics, not a record of which articles you open.

Accuracy and use of the content

The magazine is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to check facts against original sources and to correct errors, but AI-written material can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Health, legal, financial and safety articles give general information only. They are not medical care, legal advice, financial advice or emergency assistance, and they do not create any professional relationship. Make important decisions with a qualified professional and the original sources.

An “AI” label, a source link, a transcript timestamp or the ICU mark describes how an article was made. It does not certify expertise or accuracy. Analysis and opinion are labeled. External sites we link to are outside our control, and a link is not an endorsement.

Rights in the material

ICU’s original text, design, name, wordmark and the ICU Eye artwork belong to the operator. You may read, link to, quote briefly with attribution, and share links to any public page. Do not republish whole articles, remove labels or attributions, present ICU material as your own, or use the ICU name or marks to suggest an affiliation that does not exist.

Photographs and third-party images keep their own rights and are credited where they appear; their appearance here is not permission for you to reuse them. Generated illustrations are marked and are not documentary evidence of real events. Headlines in the news wire belong to their publishers and link to the original article. Feeds and automated access

The issue feed and the ICU Today feed are offered for personal feed readers and for indexing by search engines. Automated clients should respect robots.txt, request pages at a reasonable rate, and identify themselves. Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits, security checks or access controls, probe archived or non-public routes, or interfere with the service. We may block traffic that harms the site or other readers.

Contact form

The contact form sends a message to the editorial desk. Use it for corrections, questions, tips, rights requests and feedback. Do not send passwords, identity documents, medical records, illegal material, threats or spam. Messages pass an anti-abuse check and are rate-limited. We read messages but cannot promise a reply or a response time. By sending a message you allow us to read it, keep it as long as needed to act on it, and quote it if you tell us we may.

Corrections and complaints

If an article is wrong, misattributes a quotation, or uses your work or image without permission, tell us through the contact form or at safety@icumessage.com. Include the article address and what is wrong. Corrections are noted on the editorial page. Send references, not harmful attachments.

Availability and liability

We do not guarantee that the site, its feeds or the contact form will be available, uninterrupted or free of errors, or that content will stay online. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for loss or damage arising from reading or relying on the magazine, from following a link, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms removes rights that applicable law gives you or duties it places on the operator. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.

Emergencies

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. ICU’s contact form and email are not emergency services and are not monitored around the clock.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. Material changes will be dated at the top of this page and described on the editorial page. Continuing to read the magazine after a change means the new terms apply to you.
